    Choosing a size.
Most whips would love to have Size 2 (2 tapes)
heavy big whips Size 4 (4 Tapes)
Aramid crackers hand spun from a flat lace have a more aggressive, abrasive shaft, they are extremely durable and fire resistant.
The flat feathers (2 or 4) will slowly unbraid their 13 strands each for either 26 or 52 yarns that will tangle as they feather into a fluff feather.
Size Average is 1.25 mm or 0.06" in diameter, 2 flat braided 13 yarn (26)Aramid Flat Aircraft Wiring Harness tape Size 3
Size Heavy is 2.35 mm or 0.093" in diameter, 4 flat braided 13 yarn (52) Aramid Flat Aircraft Wiring Harness tape Size 3
Yarn crackers are soft with very feathery feathers.
Typically these are made 8-9" overall with a 2-2.5" feather, though I can spin them custom for your order, just spec it out.
For feathered, these are fully feathered, with a couple of half hitches (one from either side) you can always add bigger knot if you wish.
For Twin Tails crackers are finished with a bleed knot, the feathers are pulled through each other for the smallest knot that will keep them together They will feather over several good cracks and tangle the feathers as they go. You may have to add a bigger knot on larger whips.
If you are not impressed with the crackers, send them back for a full refund.
These crackers are spun tightly, versus loose lay, this helps them tangle less.
These are mounted on a soda straw section to hold the eyes open for easy cracker installation.
Aramid does not melt; it decomposes at relatively high temperatures (800°F to 900°F [427°C to 482°C]
And will turn to ash as they reach this temperature (you won't believe how long they will last in an open flame)
This makes them great for fire whip crackers.
You can always add a bigger knot but these knots are as small as possible as they help keep the feather in place without creating a bump that bites or cuts during practice or performance. It also helps the feather have no point that breaks off as a big knot will create a point that breaks down the shaft of the cracker where eventually it breaks off.
