Description
This is an 1880s apothecary showcase - in oak - that has been totally restored that we carefully modified to display our vast collection of pre-1900 billiard cues. We sold the fabulous cue collection that was housed in this case to the World Billiard Museum recently and no longer have a need for this incredible piece. It stands 8' tall, is 18' long, and is 20" deep. It disassembles, of course, for easy transportation, but the longest individual base part is 10' long. Each of the 12 circular OAK cue racks slowly revolves -MECHANICALLY
- and is remote controlled, and the entire unit is lighted - also by remote control - with an adjustable lighting unit that can be adjusted for both depth and brightness. The 24" wide center section is set up to accept
either
glass shelves for displaying collectibles, or to display 24 additional cues. When the center section is used for cues, and the 8 tiny receivers on the back wall of the case are also utilized, the showcase beautifully displays a total of 176 cues.
BTW - each of the 12 spindles
rotates
opposite the next - one clockwise, and the next counter-clockwise, etc. etc. Obviously one of a kind, it's both stunning and fascinating as a 140 year old antique showcase and one that can be used for all sorts of projects and in all sorts of venues given the 12 cylindrical cue racks can be easily removed and a set of approx. 8 ft. long shelves (which we still have) can be substituted. The 4 sliding doors have their original glass and slide smoothly, and the many cupboards and drawers are a very nice plus. We have more than what we're selling it for in it and ebay takes a bunch too so, if you're lucky, you'll know how to reach us. Let us know if you'd care to see a video of it in action.
FYI - We were Flyin' Lion Antiques for more than 40 years, and you will find us on Google for many reasons. We're in Tiffin, Iowa. We can help you find a reliable trucking co. to get it to you, and we have a handy group of pictures along with written information for easily popping it back together.
