COPPER BAR SHAKERIf you are a die hard entertainer or a
professional mixologist
this copper bar shaker belongs in your arsenal of tools to make the perfect cocktail. A stout 21 gauge copper bar shaker measuring four inches wide and nine inches high holds 22 ounces of your favorite libation. The hammered recycled copper is made in Mexico and would make any environmentalist proud to serve cocktails in this vessel.
A copper bar shaker is designed to chill and mix spectacular libations. Shaking cocktails with ice oxygenates, mixes and chills the drink. Egg whites or dairy in the ingredients also adds a nice foam on top of the cocktails. You can also use the tumbler side of the mixer as a mixing cup or glass to create stirred drinks.
Although hard to clarify it’s believed that martinis were created sometime before Prohibition. They were extremely easy to create and the classic drinks soon gained popularity with everyone looking to relax during such a difficult time.
MIXOLOGY IS A WONDERFUL SCIENCE
Shaken or stirred? Straight up or on the rocks? Vodka or Gin? These debates have been going on since the beginning of time with martinis. A traditional martini was made with gin and vermouth and garnished with a lemon twist after rubbing it around the rim of the glass or an olive. And many will argue that this is the best cocktail ever created. Rumor has it that H. L. Mencken called the martini “the only American invention as perfect as the sonnet.”
You can put your bar shaker to good use trying out some of these classic Gin martinis. Today upcoming flavors tend to be much sweeter. A Dirty Martini is Gin with just a splash of olive juice. For a Gibson you simply hold the olives and garnish with a cocktail onion instead. For an Imperial add a dash of maraschino liqueur. For a Saketini replace the vermouth with Sake. All super simple when you put your bar shaker to work.
A few Martini terms to help you if you’re new in the mixology world. A Dry Martini means little to no vermouth. A Perfect Martini means equal parts dry and sweet vermouth and a Dirty Martini means to add olive juice.
